Agrasen Gehlot has been accused of exporting subsidised fertiliser between 2007 and 2009 when the UPA government was in power.
According to sources, Agrasen Gehlot, during the period 2007 to 2009, conspired and exported a large amount of Muriate of Potash (MoP) to foreign countries that was meant for Indian farmers at a subsidised rate. He was imposed a penalty of Rs 60 crore by the Customs department.
‘MoP was meant for poor farmers of the country. Agrasen Gehlot, through his company Anupam Krishi, bought the MoP at a subsidised rate and later sold it at a high rate to countries like Malaysia and Vietnam,” the ED had said last year after conducting searches.
Based on a chargesheet by the Customs, the ED last year, filed a money laundering case against three firms and their owners, including Agrasen Gehlot.
