Engineering Services Examination (ESE) Toppers from ACE Engineering Academy

The Engineering Services Examination (ESE) is one of the toughest exams conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) to recruit officers for the services which cater to the technical functions of the Government of India. ACE Engineering Academy prides itself on coaching its students to crack competitive exams like this.

ESE can be taxing for many students taking the test. But four students of ACE Engineering Academy created history with grit and hard work have achieved AIR 1 in their respective fields of Engineering. Kuldeep Yadav from Maharashtra, Vineet Kumar from Haryana, Abhishek Kumar Sharma from Bihar, and Karthikay Kaushik from Delhi are also toppers of their respective states. All four of them prepared for ESE 2021 with ACE Engineering Academy and all four exude confidence and composure that is well beyond their age.

Here are the stories of the four ESE toppers from Ace Engineering Academy who beat all odds and emerged victorious:

1. Vineet Kumar – ESE 2021 – AIR 1st – Mechanical Engineering: Hailing from Karnal, Haryana,“I have done my B.Tech from IIT Delhi and have been working in PSU since after graduation. As I had already cleared GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) Exam to qualify for PSU my concepts were fresh and clear but this still took more effort than I anticipated as the competition and standard of questions were more difficult than GATE. So, apart from maintaining consistency in my study routine, I had to prepare for both conceptual and analytical questions. I enrolled in ACE Engineering academy for guidance and help in achieving my dream. I attended their Exclusive Live Classes where I got pointers on how to prepare better and as practice is key to success, ACE’s test series provided me with the progressive consistency I required to judge and improve my preparation.”

2. Abhishek Kumar Sharma – ESE 2021 – AIR 1st – Electrical Engineering: “I belong to the quaint town of Muzaffarpur, Bihar, I believe there are two key ingredients to success- consistent hard work and quitting any sort of distraction. My first attempt at ESE was in 2018 and till 2020 I didn’t make it into the final list. This time learning from my previous attempt I enrolled at ACE and attempted all the provided test series and also attempted all the topics I had left out previously. The 30-40 tests that I attempted at ACE during my preparation for ESE prepared me to attempt maximum questions in the exam’s time constraints. I had also looked over General Studies in my last attempts, so, this time around I focused on it. ACE really helped me see where I was faltering and hence re-evaluated my study methods; it also built my confidence in my preparation which exuded in my answer sheet and interview.”

3. Kuldeep Yadav – ESE 2021 – AIR 1st – Electronics & Communication Engineering – Hailing from Pune, Maharashtra, “I took the online test series and guidance from ACE Engineering Academy to prepare for ESE. They helped me revise and revise the syllabus and also changed my understanding of my own potential and helped me prepare according to my capabilities and perform better. I made my first attempt in 2020 but didn’t secure any rank. So, this time around I sought out structured guidance to perform up to my potential. As I was also working around this time, I didn’t have enough time to study but I was determined and made sure to take out enough time every day to study for ESE. I constantly revised what I studied and didn’t stop till I was sure I could answer conceptually and analytically in all topics on the syllabus.”

4. Karthikay Kaushik – ESE 2021 – AIR 1st – Civil Engineering – East Delhi, Delhi: Graduated from IIT Roorkee in 2019, “I have been preparing for ESE since then. This was my second attempt, in my first attempt, I went till the interview round but didn’t get selected as I didn’t meet the cut-off. Determined to do better this time I was enrolled in ACE ESE Mains Postal coaching. ACE Engineering Academy books were well equipped to give knowledge from all corners of the subject and are more relevant to the ESE exam. I started preparing for ESE by using them. I figured I needed to improve my speed and accuracy so I took as many test series as I could take. My interview was unconventional as no question was from my detailed application, I would suggest everyone aspiring to be prepared for everything and build their own unique opinion on themselves as well as their subjects.”

ACE Engineering Academy with its test series and study materials customized to the need and potential of each student, in the past few years has changed the face of coaching by changing and adapting to its student’s needs. These four students are a testament to Prof. YV Gopala Krishna Murthy’s unconventional and innovative teaching methods yielding desired results.

Academy in 2020 switched to a hybrid model offering both online and offline classes in order to provide top-tier coaching to all engineering aspirants who were seeking guidance. ACE has worked on building new technological capabilities and focused on building a new test preparation platform with capabilities such as recorded classes, live classes, Online Test Series, and doubt solving. Adding to this, ACE Online uses data science and machine learning to implement their coaching methodology to deliver the best ranks for their students offline and online.
