Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp take to Twitter to announce server down
Following reports of global outage of servers hosting its apps and websites, social media giant Facebook and its properties, including WhatsApp and Instagram, took to Twitter to announce that they were working to get things back to normal as quickly as possible.
“We’re aware that some people are having trouble accessing our apps and products. We’re working to get things back to normal as quickly as possible, and we apologize for any inconvenience,” a Facebook spokesperson said.

Facebook and its properties, including WhatsApp, Instagram and Messenger, reported an outage on Monday evening.
In a tweet, WhatsApp said it was working to restore its service after many users reported outage.
“We’re aware that some people are experiencing issues with WhatsApp at the moment. We’re working to get things back to normal and will send an update here as soon as possible. Thanks for your patience!” WhatsApp said in a tweet.

Instagram’s official communication handle has also tweeted, “Instagram and friends are having a little bit of a hard time right now, and you may be having issues using them. Bear with us, we’re on it! #instagramdown.”
While it may be too early to say, this seems to be an issue around the DNS server down. The refresh request submitted to Facebook or Instagram on the website or app comes out as a timeout.
Meanwhile, not leaving the opportunity to be creative, netizens flooded Twitter with memes over the global outage of Instagram, WhatsApp and Facebook .
